Working From Home? You Are Not Alone
The April 2008 issue of the Small Business Administration’s Small Business Advocate newsletter notes that 53% of small businesses in the United States are operated and managed from home-based offices.
This means that approximately 9 million American businesses are headquartered in residences, according to the National Federation of Independent Business.
Savvy entrepreneurs know that working from home keeps overhead low, particularly during these days of elevated gasoline and commuter costs. Lower overhead rates mean better prices for customers, so everyone benefits when small business owners operate their companies from home.
